  1. What accounting solutions do you provide?

    We prepare all types of 1040 individual tax returns with numerous forms and Schedules, and represent our clients before the IRS.   3. What is an enrolled agent?

    An enrolled agent or EA is a designation the IRS awards to a tax professional allowing the individual to practice before the IRS representing various taxpayers on all types of tax matters. EAs, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. EAs are required to obtain 72 hours of continuing education every three years.

    A PTIN is a preparer tax identification number. Anyone who prepares a tax return for compensation is required to obtain a PTIN.

  6. What information is required to get an individual tax return prepared?

    Please bring proof of identity, social security cards for all members of your household, all Forms W-2 and 1099s, any important tax documents that have been sent to you from various agencies, and any other documentation that will be necessary to substantiate any deductions or dependents that you are claiming.
  7. Can I use my last check stub for getting a tax return filed?

    No. A check stub should only be used to estimate the amount of taxes that you owe or that will be refunded.
  8. Do you prepare individual and small business tax returns all year long?

    Yes. We assist clients with current year tax returns, past year tax returns, amended tax returns, and extensions.
  9. Do you offer a bank product?

    Yes. e-Collect is the bank product we offer through EPS Financial , LLC.
  10. What payment options are available with the bank product?

    Refunds are disbursed via check or direct deposit.
  11. How long does it take to get a tax refund?

    Some refunds are disbursed within two weeks of the tax return being accepted by the IRS, but there are delays when certain tax credits are claimed or if the tax return is selected for review.
  12. What does it cost to have an individual 1040 tax return prepared?

    It depends on the complexity of the return, the number of forms that are used, the number of state tax returns that are prepared, and if all the documentation to prepare the tax return in a timely manner is available.
  13. Is it necessary to make an appointment for tax preparation services?

    In order to better serve you, please call ahead to schedule an appointment.
  14. When are you open for business?

    We are open 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The last appointment of the day is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.
  15. What days are your closed?

    We are closed on Sundays and all federal holidays.
  16. Is there a set-up fee for accounting and payroll services?

    Yes. The set-up fee is $100 when no historical data exists. After initial set up occurs, historical data will be dealt with on an hourly basis.
  17. What company information is required to get started?

    The legal name of your business, the name(s) of the owner(s) or officer(s), address, EIN, state withholding tax account number, state unemployment account number, and unemployment tax rate are needed to start the process. These are the requirements for a company with employees. Companies without employees do not need to provide the account numbers that are necessary for employment purposes. Bookkeeping clients must provide additional financial data, including but not limited to, bank statements, and a list of vendors and account balances.
  18. What employee information is required to get started?

    Forms W-4 and State Withholding Tax Exemption Forms on all current year employees, employee wage information, and an up-to-date payroll report for the current year will be necessary to properly begin the payroll process.
  19. How long does it take for my payroll to process?

    Usually payroll processing occurs when the hours worked, commissions earned, etc. are received by 10:00 a.m.
  20. What if an error on a timesheet occurs?

    A paycheck can be reprinted or a manual check can be written and a corrected paystub issued.
  21. How does direct deposit work?

    Employees must fill out an authorization form. Net wages can be deposited into checking and savings accounts. The process takes two business days, and allowances must be made for bank holidays.
  22. What employment taxes do you handle?

    We handle all federal and state withholding, Medicare, Social Security, FUTA and SUTA taxes.
  23. What method is used for tax payments?

    The majority of your taxes are paid electronically as required by the tax authorities. If you owe taxes after your individual or business tax returns are prepared, those taxes can be paid electronically or with a check.
  24. Do you process garnishments?

    Yes, a copy of the document stating the garnishee, the amount to garnish, and to whom the garnishment is payable is needed.
  25. What reports are included with payroll processing?

    Payroll Summaries are submitted for each pay period. New Hire Reports are submitted periodically.
  26. Do you print and reconcile Forms W-2?

    Yes, we handle every detail. Fees are $25 for 1 – 5 Forms W-2, each additional form is $5 with a maximum fee of $500 for 100 or more. This fee includes sending the Social Security Administration either through the mail or online Form W-3 and Forms W-2. It also includes sending Forms W-2 and an Annual Reconciliation to the proper state tax authorities.
  27. What does it cost to have my payroll done?

    The basic payroll processing fee is $40 plus $5 for each item. Items include paychecks, tax payments, direct deposits, garnishments, etc. The rate per check drops to $2.50 per check starting with the 101st employee. Paying your employees bi-weekly or semi-monthly drastically reduces the payroll processing fee.

  29. Do you print and reconcile Forms 1099 for contractors?

    Yes. That solution is provided, but it must be requested prior to January 1. The cost is a $25 minimum for 1 – 5 Forms 1099, and each additional form is $5.
  30. Where will the services you provide be done?

    The services we provide will always be done from the State of Mississippi, USA.
  31. What measures are taken to insure my privacy?

    We value your business and guard the privacy of your data. We will never ask for any confidential information via email.
  32. Will a signed contractual agreement or engagement letter be required?

    Yes. It clearly defines the services we are expected to provide.
  33. Is there an additional fee for returns and reports?

    Yes, Employer’s Federal Tax Returns and State Unemployment Reports are billed depending on the number of reports that must be done. Please call for more information.
  34. Should I make an appointment to get my tax return prepared and e-filed?

    Yes. Regular office hours are 9 – 6 CST. The last appointment for the day is scheduled at 5 CST.
  35. How long does it take to get a tax refund?

    If you e-file and choose direct deposit, your tax refund will likely be received within twenty-one days or less. Check the status of your refund at Where’s My Refund?
  36. What is e-Collect?

    e-Collect is a bank product offered through EPS Financial, LLC and The Bancorp Bank; Member FDIC. If you are eligible for a tax refund, you can pay the tax return preparation fee with proceeds from your tax refund through e-Collect. The IRS processes your return and issues the refund. Your refund is sent to EPS and instantly the tax return preparation fee is sent to your tax preparer. A fee for choosing e-Collect is deducted from the refund, and the remainder is sent to you either as a direct deposit or as a check that you can pick up the same day.
